Send a guide price before you visit
Updated
A guide price is a range you send before anyone drives anywhere. It is not a quote and it does not commit you to a number. It exists to find out whether you and the customer are in the same ballpark, before you spend an hour of diesel finding out you aren't.
Before you start
- The job needs a job type set, so there is something to price against.
- The customer needs an email address on the job.
- You type the figures yourself. Nothing suggests a price for you — pricing is your trade, not ours.
Steps
- Open the job and find the guide price panel.
- Tap Send a guide price.
- Put in the low and high end of your range.
- Tap Send.
The customer gets the range by email under your business name, with two ways to answer: they are interested, or it is more than they had in mind.
What their answer means
- Interested — worth the visit. Book it and get on with quoting properly.
- Too expensive — you have saved yourself the trip. The job can be closed as lost from the same panel.
Either way the answer lands on the job, so you are not guessing.
Sending another one
If the work changes, send a new range. Tap Send a new guide price — the earlier ones stay on the job so you can see what you told them and when.
