Getting started

Import your jobs from a spreadsheet

Updated

If you've got work in a spreadsheet or another tool, don't retype it. Upload the file, check what was found, and confirm.

A spreadsheet upload becoming jobs — checked before anything is created.

Steps

  1. Open Settings and find Import your jobs, then tap Import.
  2. Choose your file — .csv or .xlsx, up to 8 MB and 5,000 rows — and tap Upload and check.
  3. The columns are read for you. There's no column-matching screen: customer names, emails, phones, job descriptions, statuses, amounts and dates are recognised from your headings and sample values, and columns that don't fit are skipped. Your own status words are understood too — "booked in" reads as scheduled, "done" as completed.
  4. Check the preview. The summary reads "Ready to import: N jobs · N invoices · N already paid · N things to check". Untick any rows you don't want. Rows with a question — say, a paid amount but no invoice amount — carry a note explaining what will happen.
  5. Tap Import N jobs. You can leave the page; the import carries on by itself.

What gets created

Jobs, with their customers linked; invoices where the file had invoice amounts; and payments where it had paid amounts. Statuses follow the money when the two disagree — a row marked "quoted" with a paid amount imports as paid.

If it goes wrong

Remove this import deletes everything that upload created — its jobs, invoices and payments — and keeps anything you've worked on since. Then fix the spreadsheet and upload again. An import that stops partway needs no undoing; upload the file again to retry.
